Today morning, at 11:30 AM Eastern Time, Dynamo Moscow will play Sibir in the Russian Kontinental Hockey League.
The game will be interesting for viewers outside Russia for the fact that one of the National Hockey League (NHL) heavyweights and multiple award winning player, Alexander Ovechkin, plays for HC Dynamo Moscow in the game.
Ovechkin is currently one of many players who are away indefinitely from the NHL due to the ongoing lockout, and the Russian hockey superstar is a valuable addition to the Moscow team who is taking on HC Sibir from Russia's third most populous city, Novosibirsk in Asian Russia.
HC Sibir is headed by 24-year old captain Jonas Enlund from Finland, facing off against 34-year old Moscow captain Yuri Babenko's team.
The Kontinental Hockey League is the biggest international hockey league in Europe and Asia with teams competing across vast distances and country borders, with teams ranging from HC Lev Praha in Prague, Czech Republic, to HC Amur in Khabarovsk, Russia, not far from the Pacific Ocean
