'Batman v Superman' Star Gal Gadot Talks About Her Wonder Woman Role In 'Dawn Of Justice'

Wonder Woman is probably the best known female superhero in pop culture. The DC icon has influenced women through her appearances in comic books, TV shows and now, she will be seen on the big screen.

Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman in the film 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' and fans were able to get a glimpse of her Diana Prince in action in the movie's new trailer that debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Gadot was recently featured in Interview magazine, where she confirmed that she told Hollywood bigwigs that she wanted to portray independent women in her films.

"I told them that I wanted to be able to show the stronger side of women," she said. "I didn't want to do the obvious role that you see in Hollywood most of the time, which is the heartbroken girl who's waiting to be rescued by the guy, blah, blah, blah. I wanted to do something different."

The actress was almost immediately signed on to portray Diana Prince in 'Batman v Superman.' Gadot admits that she is excited about the part.

"Oh, my God, I'm so excited about this role," she said. "I feel like I've been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There's a lot of responsibility."

The film is definitely something to look forward to. "It's going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood," Gadot added.

Gadot will be wearing a new Amazonian costume for the movie, and people have been talking about the amazing Wonder Woman shoes.
