'Star Wars' News: Adam Savage of 'Mythbusters' Reveals New ‘The Force Awakens’ Detail [VIDEO]

It's not every day that a possible spoiler makes its way into the internet, but sometimes when it does, it comes from a very reliable source.

Adam Savage, who stars in the Discovery Channel show 'Mythbusters,' spoke to io9 during the San Diego Comic-Con and offered a hint on what to look forward to in the upcoming Lucasfilm sequel 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'

[EXCITING SPOILERS AHEAD. EXCITING, BUT STILL SPOILERS]

Savage relates a story of a certain special effects supervisor who is working on a special scene for the film.

"Phil Tippet, who designed all of the original creatures for the first three 'Star Wars' films, is a friend of mine and he got brought back in to the new 'Star Wars' film by [director] J.J. [Abrams], to redo a specific sequence that people will remember from 'Star Wars' that carries forward into these sequels. And I got to go watch him shoot it."

"It was so cool-the old school technology," Savage continued. "The oldest school technology: his animation. And it's beautiful."

When asked if it could be the 3D chess, he responded, "Yes!" then quickly retracted by adding, "No! Maybe!" He finally confirmed, "Yes."

According to io9, the sequence could be related to Abrams' previous tweet that involved the holochess set in the Millennium Falcon. Tippett had previously been involved in creating the chess game featuring several holographic creatures.

If Tippett has been brought in to recreate the holochess sequence, would this mean that Chewbacca will finally win?

Savage also shared his opinion about 3D printing.

"It does make some things more possible," he said. "We also have a generation of film-makers, like Jon Favreau and Peter Jackson and J.J. Abrams, who really appreciate and understand how those effects were used, and are really looking to put them back."

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
