Drew Barrymore has a story to tell and she's hoping to inspire others with the release of her second memoir, Wildflower. The 40-year-old mother-of-two talked to People on Monday about what prompted her to tell her life story again after her first book Little Girl Lost. On the cover of her new tome, the former child actress appears happy in a spring-like setting.
The Blended star holds onto a long-stemmed flower as she is without shoes and launching into the air wearing an embroidered floral dress. Her signature blonde locks were tossed in a messy yet refined ponytail. The warm and cheery cover reflects the sentiments of the Renaissance woman's latest book. Drew has written two other books. Her first autobiography, the New York Time's Best Seller, Little Girl Lost, was written when she was just 14-years-old. It surrounded her time in rehab, her partying lifestyle and the struggles of being a child actress.
Her second book Find It In Everything, explored her love for hearts and photography with images of the symbol of love taken by Drew herself. This time around the director is sharing her life story from the stance of a 40-year-old old mother and wife. 'I have wanted to write a book for many years, but the irony of writing this with two young kids was wild,' she revealed to People. Her new book is more about her life after Little Girl Lost and her journey from living on her own at 14-years-old to becoming a Hollywood star. Barrymore said she hopes that readers will find the book, 'humorous, emotional and welcoming.' Wildflower hits shelves and tablets on October 27.
