'The X-Files' Adds 'Silicon Valley's' Kumail Nanjiani, Robbie Amell And Lauren Ambrose To Cast

With only a few months before its premiere, the reboot of the Fox hit 'The X-Files' has added three more actors to its already stellar cast.

'Silicon Valley' star Kumail Nanjiani has recently taken to Twitter to report his excitement over being part of the series. A true X-Files fan, Nanjiani is also the host of the X-Files Files podcast. He announced his involvement via a tweet that would give any X-Phile the goosebumps.

"I got to be in an ep of my favorite show (X Files) written & directed by my favorite writer (Darin Morgan.) And this script is wonderful," he tweeted.

Nanjiani did not disclose what part he will be playing, but he did post a photo of himself with Mulder and Scully.

THR has also reported that 'The Flash' actor Robbie Amell and 'Six Feet Under' actress Lauren Ambrose will appears as guest stars in the 'X-Files' mini-series. Amell will portray Agent Miller, a fed who is described as "smart and smooth." Ambrose will appear as the "sharp and confident" Agent Einstein. Both actors will be featured in the fourth episode of the series.

'The X-Files' reboot will mark the return of Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and David Duchovny as Fox Mulder. The show will also feature Mitch Pileggi as Assistant Director Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as Cancer Man.

According to Nanjiani's Twitter account, he had been accepted by the 'X-Files' alums. Pileggi had tweeted, "@kumailn Hope you had fun and welcome to the family:)." Unfortunately, the X-Files crew still has trouble spelling his name.

'The X-Files' was created by Chris Carter and first aired in 1993. The series lasted nine seasons and even spawned two movies, a spin-off TV show as well as a comic book line. The reboot will air on Fox on January 24, 2016.
