Families Exploited for Reality TV Shows: From ‘The Osbournes’ to ‘I Am Cait’ (See Photos)

From The Osbournes to I Am Cait, these are the reality shows that have pretty much exploited families and have been vulnerable to the public eye and the media. It all started with MTV's projects to E! Network's seemingly ongoing empire of the same theme. Here are among the families as reported by The Wrap that have experienced living under the microscope since they allowed their images along with their loved one be scrutinized by the public eye.

It all started with The Osbournes with the head of the family Ozzy, who is known for his stint in Black Sabbath. His wife Sharon, leading their family to the gig that MTV produced, manages his career. The show started from 2001 and ended in 2005.

The Anna Nicole Show that ran from 2002 and 2004 was also among the most controversial of all reality shows in the first 10 years of the new millennium. Smith was a playboy model who died in 2007 due to drug overdose.

Redosity also has boyband superstar Nick Lachey and former wife and singer Jessica Simpson on their list as they had their careers skyrocketed when they aired their reality TV, Newlyweds in 2003. The show ended along with their marriage in 2005.

The late Whitney Houston and her wife Bobby Brown were also in a reality TV show that only lasted for one season in 2005 under the network Bravo. It wasn't followed by another season because of some issues they had with the network.

Fast forward to this day's most popular reality TV show that features a family, I Am Cait is definitely making it when it comes to rating since former athlete Bruce Jenner came out as a transgender woman (Caitlyn Jenner) on the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The whole world has known of his struggle and finally transitioning to becoming a woman in the public eye.
