A couple of months ago -- in May, to be exact -- GapKids revealed that the brand will be teaming up with Ellen DeGeneres' lifestyle brand, ED (which was launched just a few weeks ago).

Now, GapKids is giving everyone a sneak peek into the new collaboration. As Portia de Rossi's wife posed with a few girls modeling her creations in the newly released behind the scenes video, surely Ellen wasn't short on laughs either.
One girl even attempts to teach Ellen how to play the drums, while another model boasts of her robotic hand. Another kid even shows DeGeneres her skateboarding skills.

Recruiting these talented girls for the #GapKidsxED line was no coincidence. Known for her philanthropy and causes, Gap explains that the new collaboration is far beyond a collection of apparel.
In fact, they claim that the new line is actually "a social movement meant to empower young girls to be their own heroes," as per Mashable.

In the press release, Ellen DeGeneres expressed her excitement about the venture. "I am thrilled that my lifestyle brand, ED, is partnering with Gap to encourage young girls to pursue their passion, whether it's math, science, sports, the arts," she said.
DeGeneres also added, "Following my passion allowed me to be exactly who I am today."
Not to fret, as the collection isn't limited to just young girls. The collection also boasts of a wide variety of pieces for boys and a few items for adults as well.

Elle Magazine even reports that a portion of the profits will be donated to various charities around the world - amazing, but not so surprising given that Ellen DeGeneres is a collaborator on the project.
Parents and kids alike can cop items from the #GapKidsxED collection starting August 18 in selected Gap stores and on the Gap website here.
