'Batman v Superman' Comic-Con Trailer Confirms Several Movie Rumors [VIDEO]

The 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' panel at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) was one of the most exciting discussions. But nothing could prepare fans for the unveiling of the lengthy new trailer for the movie.

The 'Batman v Superman' Comic-Con trailer was well over three minutes long, and it confirmed several speculations surrounding the 'Man of Steel' connection between the films, Bruce Wayne's father and the real threat to humanity.

It also showed Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) facing off, as well as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in action. There are glimpses of Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons), Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg).

The trailer opens with the aftermath of the destruction seen in 'Man of Steel,' which is revealed to have destroyed Wayne Tower. An enraged Bruce Wayne then sets out to take revenge on Superman.

Wait, Wayne Tower is in Metropolis? Isn't it supposed to be in Gotham? Director Zack Snyder explained at Comic-Con that they decided to put the two cities beside each other in the film. Affleck expands on the explanation.

"There's this interesting idea of Metropolis being this successful, wealthy city and Gotham being where downtrodden people live," he said. "Gotham people take the ferry to Metropolis, and there's this idea of wealth and power, power engenders fear, which made it feel real and smart."

It was initially reported that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would play Thomas Wayne in a flashback scene in the film. The trailer offers a glimpse of the actor trying to defend his family from thugs.

Lex Luthor is one of the most visible characters, appearing to be moving the strings to pit Batman and Superman against each other. Wonder Woman is shown wearing elegant clothes and in her Amazonian armor in the teaser.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
