It's no secret that 'Star Wars' will bring the Force into the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). However, a few insider secrets did make their way into the internet before Lucasfilms takes on Hall H.
[SPOILERS COMING UP]
Devin Faraci of Birth Death Movies has just reported that Darth Vader will appear in a new 'Star Wars' movie.
"I ran into a good source this past weekend and, over drinks, was told a nugget that should make people pretty intrigued: Darth Vader will be in 'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One,'" he wrote. "He will not be the main antagonist but he will be working behind the scenes, pulling strings and will appear onscreen."
Faraci also revealed a bit more about the villain's appearance in the film.
"Literally, I'm told - he'll be showing up via viewscreen or holo projection or something," he wrote.
'Rogue One' will be the first standalone film that takes place outside of the usual 'Star Wars' timeline. Darth Vader's appearance confirms that the storyline will involve the Empire and the Rebel Alliance.
The two other spin-offs are backstories for Obi-Wan Kenobi and Han Solo, and are still untitled. Or are they?
An alleged stolen photograph taken from SDCC may have pre-empted Lucasfilms' grand revelation of its line-up.
The picture shows the company's list of upcoming films, and very clearly shows the title of the Kenobi movie. The second 'Star Wars Anthology' film has been given the title 'The Balance of the Force.'
The photo also reveals that Han Solo will not be the only star of the other standalone film. The words "FETT/SOLO" suggests that the Han Solo movie will also feature Bobba Fett's backstory.
'Star Wars' Episodes VIII and IX did not have titles yet.
The picture was posted on Imgur with the caption, "Just saw this floating around on imgur. Apparently a convention staffer managed to snap a pic of lucasfilm running some tech tests getting ready for Hall H at comic con."
Lucasfilms is scheduled to storm into Hall H on Friday.
