Could Chris Pratt Play Han Solo In 'Star Wars' Standalone Movie?

The internet is currently buzzing about the planned 'Star Wars' standalone film that will feature everybody's favorite pilot Han Solo. The character, originally played by Harrison Ford in Episodes IV to VI, will star in his own yet-untitled movie.

So far, the 'Star Wars' standalone film only has its directors, writers and producers. However, this hasn't stopped 'Star Wars' fans from daydreaming about who will play the new Han Solo.

The fan casting has commenced. The Hollywood Reporter has listed ten young actors who are considered fit to fill Harrison Ford's boots. The list included 'Mad Max: Fury Road' star Nicholas Hoult, Grant Gustin, Nat Wolff and Tye Sheridan.

Buzzfeed's list was longer and the website also chose Ansel Elgort, Garrett Hedlund, Anthony Ingruber, Miles Teller and Taron Egerton.

However, one notable name that came up was that of 'Jurassic World' star Chris Pratt.

Twitter users immediately declared that Pratt should be cast as Han Solo.

And since this is Twitter, some people had a different opinion.

Others helpfully reminded the world that Chris Pratt may be too old for the "young" Han Solo role.

However, the internet seems to have spoken.

Fans have cited that Chris Pratt is the new Harrison Ford. His character in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is said to have several similarities with Han Solo. The actor is also being considered for the title role of the upcoming Indiana Jones reboot.

Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller has been attached to helm the untitled 'Star Wars' Han Solo film. The screenplay will be written by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan, while Kathleen Kennedy will be the producer.

The 'Star Wars' spinoff movie will reportedly be a Han Solo backstory, taking place before the all-around scoundrel met Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The film is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.
