Last month, for Father's Day, actress and new mom Blake Lively shared a snap of her superstar husband holding Ryan Reynolds' daughter, along with a sweet message - but they were then followed by controversy as parents everywhere accused the actor of holding the baby, 6 month-old James, the wrong way.
Now, weeks after the incident that made the picture of Ryan Reynolds’ daughter go viral, the actor addresses the controversy for the first time, admitting that he was holding her in a way that she wasn’t secure – but he explains that, as a first-time dad, he will be making mistakes sometimes, as it’s perfectly natural to do.
According to Yahoo! Parenting, the actor recently discussed the mild Ryan Reynolds scandal on “The Today Show,” after host Matt Lauer addressed the topic of the highly controversial photo on his wife’s Instagram, which still remains there.
“The baby is not properly secured in the vessel that I’m wearing there,” the actor acknowledged, according to Us Weekly, when discussing the highly controversial photo of Ryan Reynolds’ daughter. “I’m a first-time dad and that is not the first mistake I’ve made and I can guarantee it won’t be the last.”
Reynolds then went on to explain that he’s now holding baby James perfectly!
The 38 year-old actor, who was once engaged to Alanis Morissette and then married to Scarlett Johansson, is currently promoting his latest film, “Self/less,” and it has also turned into an opportunity for him to dish about Ryan Reynolds’ daughter in every public appearance, as he calls her “great” and says that being a dad is the “best” job he’s ever had.
E! Online reports that he also talked to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan last Tuesday, telling them his wife and daughter were currently in Bangkok, Thailand, while he’s just gotten back and is currently jetlagged.
Let’s hope we get to see more pictures of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ daughter soon!
