Just last month, Kyemah McEntyre became viral on the Internet for designing and making her own prom dress. Much like everyone else, singer Naturi Naughton first found out about the 18-year-old designer when news broke out of her amazing creation.

Naturi Naughton was a former member of the R&B group called "3LW." She's also currently acting for Starz's drama series, "Power."
When the singer turned actress decided to look up McEntyre on Instagram, she found out that she and the crowned prom queen had something in common.

The two actually grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. Talking to Cosmopolitan.com, Naturi said, "That was an automatic connection."
Naturi Naughton then reached out the young Kyemah Mcentyre and asked her to create a gown for her BET Awards appearance in Los Angeles, California.

Obviously, Kyemah couldn't pass up the opportunity! Admitting that it was her second design, Mcentyre talked on the phone with Naturi to discuss how the dress would look.
According to Seventeen, Naturi "wanted a mermaid dress in an African 'Angelina' print with a halter that showed off her cleavage." Kyemah then was able to create three different designs for Naughton to choose from.

"When I saw her sketches, I just felt like, this girl is an artist. She has a vision," said Naturi Naughton about the young budding designer.
Kyemah McEntyre worked with Markell's Closet seamstress, Markell Mockabee, to create the stunning gown within a week's time. The two even met up for some fittings in Naturi's New Jersey home.
Naturi got several positive responses about her gown at the 2015 BET Awards. "I can't even get over how much of a queen I felt walking onto the carpet. The dress was the talk of the night," she gushed.
Ciara, and Sanaa Lathan loved the dress. Even singer Ne-Yo told Naturi that he was proud of Naughton for "doing such a 'dope' thing."
Kyemah MacEntyre is definitely headed for the big leagues. The recent high school graduate is set to enter Parsons starting this fall.
