An Australian architecture firm will be building a 68-story skyscraper inspired by the famous singer Beyonce. The firm called Elenberg Fraser has already gained approval to construct the building.
The irregularly-shaped high-rise building called Premiere Tower has a design similar to the flowing capes of fabric worn by the singer and songwriter in her music video for the song "Ghost". The "Crazy in Love" singer has proved to be an influential and ground-breaking artist.
The design of the curvaceous building is not just a product of mere fascination to the singer's song. According to the report of Dezeen Magazine, the design of the building does not only follow artistic principles but also obeys science laws. Elenberg Fraser has stated the project is a result of important research.
"The complex form - a vertical cantilever - is actually the most effective way to redistribute the building's mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements," the firm stated.
In other words, Premiere Tower's exceptional design does not only makes it look good but also improves its structural integrity. The firm confirms that it can also counter wind, sudden climate changes, and other particular limits of the site.
The new tower which will soon be standing at 134 Spencer Street in Melbourne has been approved for planning last May. It will hold 660 apartments and 160 luxurious hotel rooms. It will replace the spot Savoy Tavern which will soon be demolished.
Fragrance Group will be the one to helm the project, which is a property development body of Koh Wee Meng of Singapore.
The international singer who won five Grammy Awards has become an inspirational icon in the field of art. Over the years, Beyonce inspired art projects continue to emerge like the hyper-realistic painting and the current 68-story building.
