Serena Williams Wins Over Sister Venus

The younger one by 2 years, Serena Williams wins over sister Venus in the Wimbledon. The win now qualifies Serena for the Wimbledon quarter finals, reports BBC Sport News.

It was apparent even at the start of the match that the Serena had the upper hand, taking on the first eight points and dominating in the serve, return and winners. The match continued for 1 hour and 8 minutes.

Venus' loss is the first in six years. Her most recent win was in Montreal. She is now no. 16 in the world ranks. She last won in Wimbledon in 2008, and since then has suffered through various illnesses and injuries.

Meanwhile, Serena enjoys the top spot as the world's no. 1 female single player. She claims it's not easy to play against her sister. They have started playing against each other in 1998, and the recent match was their 26th. However, she enjoys the moment and the competition, and gives it her all to win the match.

The sisters were dressed in regulatory Wimbledon whites. Of the two, Serena is the more fashionably adventurous one. She is known to wear prints and wild colors on the court. Off court, she dons well-known brands Burberry and Victoria Beckham. She has put her fashion sense to good use, and has created her own line with Puma and Nike.

Based on statistics of the Women's Tennis Association or WTA, Serena is smaller in height and weighs less than her sister. Venus, though, was first to turn pro in 1994. Serena followed suit barely a year after. But Serena has had more career titles, and understandably, has earned more in her tennis career.

Venus says they have been playing for a lot of years and have tried to be entertaining. That is for sure.
