The reality star and former Olympian, Caitlyn Jenner, held on to the special meaning of this year's Independence Day. She did a patriotic Instagram post where he 65 year old Jenner shared a shot of a framed American flag wishing her followers a happy holiday.
Caitlyn Jenner wrote: "Happy 4th of July! Proud to be an American ... where at least I am free to be me."
The reality star celebrated the Fourth of July holiday for the first time after transitioning to become a transgender woman. Earlier this year, Caitlyn Jenner made her transition and on June 1 in a Vanity Fair cover story she revealed her female name. The 1976 Olympic decathlon men's event champion was known as Bruce Jenner, prior to coming out as a transgender woman in 2015.
Caitlyn appears more feminine after she had undergone plastic surgery. She revealed a new look and was seen in several chic outfits weeks after the transition. While Jenner and a gal pal attended a Broadway play in New York City, she wore a navy cleavage-baring lace dress.
Kim Kardashian West had become most understanding about Jenner's male to female transformation, tru to the philosophy of her husband Kanye West in being free to be yourself.
Jenner stated, "He says to Kim, 'Look it, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and I have that," Jenner also said, " 'But I'm nothing if I can't be me. If I can't be true to myself, it doesn't mean anything."
At the ESPY Awards on July 15 will be Caitlyn's first public appearance since the transformation, and at the ceremony, Caitlyn is being presented with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
Caitlyn Jenner stated: "However, being honored with this award, which is named after one of my heroes, is truly special. For the first time this July, I will be able to stand as my true self in front of my peers."
