Steven Spielberg Movies: ‘E.T. Director Adapting Michael Crichton’s Last Novel NOT ‘Jurassic Park’ Related

For more than 20 years, adaptations of the world shown in the original Michael Crichton's "Jurassic Park" novel have been making billions of dollars worth of box office, among the most marketable Steven Spielberg movies - and now he'll be giving life to another Crichton novel on the big screen.

DreamWorks, the studio responsible for Steven Spielberg's movies, has recently acquired the adaptation rights to film "Micro," the last novel ever written by the author, published unfinished in 2011, years after his 2008 death from lymphoma cancer.

According to Cinema Blend, Steven Spielberg's movies will be adding another Crichton adaptation, though it bears no connection to his beloved dinosaur tale, though the technological aspect is ever-present in the author's works; in any case, the story follows a team of grad students hired by a biotech company, and things go weird and sour from then on.

It sounds similar to something like this year's "Ex Machina," and the fact that it's among Steven Spielberg's movies only makes it more enticing to future viewers!

It was The Wrap that broke news that "Micro" would be joining other Steven Spielberg movies, joining five other projects the prolific director is currently working on, including a biopic called "It's What I Do" where he'll be directing Oscar-winning star Jennifer Lawrence.

There have also been reports of an "Indiana Jones" sequel or reboot, which could see star Harrison Ford returning to the iconic role.

Most recently, the famous director executive produced "Jurassic World," the box office smash starring Marvel actor Chris Pratt.

According to AV Club, the upcoming "Micro" isn't the only Crichton adaptation currently in the works, as HBO will be releasing a TV series based on "Westworld," a film the author directed himself and starred classic film star Yul Brynner.

DreamWorks also owns the film adaptation rights to Crichton's other posthumously published novel, the 2009 book "Pirate Latitudes."

Fans can rest assured that there are plenty of Steven Spielberg movies in the works!
