iPhone 7 Rumors: Is Apple Getting Rid Of Home Button?

The traditional home button of any Apple products will soon be gone as the company plans to redesign the gadgets. The feature, which has become a recognizable trademark in their product lines, will no longer be present in future iPhone and iPad products.

According to a few sources, the tech giant's future product plans includes removal of the part which will then be replaced with a fingerprint display sensor feature. However, the change will not be expected within two years.

Rumors have been going around about Apple's long term goal ,which is to develop a touch and display driver integration single-chip solutions for future iPhones.

The company's quest for fingerprint recognition to be installed on the display of their products is not new. Earlier, Apple filed multiple patent applications, revealing their desire to develop a program that can capture a number of fingerprints at the same time for the security of the users.

The absence of the home button in iPhones can give way to enhance other features like having a wider screen. On the other hand, many are confused about waking the phone screen without the home button.

This may not be a problem at all since Apple Watch has a 'tap to wake' feature which immediately shows the display with just one tap.

Back in 2013, Martin Hajek designed an iPhone model that has no home button. Together with Steve Hemmerstoffer, the two developed a concept of the iPhone 6 even before the product was released to the market.

Using the iPod touch feature, they got rid of the home key, giving the iPhone a new look. Their design somehow gives people an idea of what an Apple phone looks like without its symbolic part.

The images below show the works of Hajek based on Hemmerstoffer's concept.
