Apple News, which is a feature of the coming operating system iOS 9, targets to be the main news source for users of Apple gadgets. It is almost similar to news sources such as Facebook, Google as well as Flipboard, another news app.

Earlier, the company has announced that they will be employing experienced journalists who will be responsible in managing the news feeds which is totally opposite to what other online news providers which make use of algorithmic procedure.

A professor of mobile journalism from the University of Missouri named Judd Slivka was impressed by the company's desire to deliver trustworthy news.

"Apple is eager to have news created by human beings and not algorithms-it fits in with the brand statement Apple has been making. The expectation is they will put together a smart team that works well broadly across news and specific content areas," said the professor.

This feature will become a threat to competitors like Facebook, which make use of formulas to aim to bring articles to users based on patterns like Web habits, demographics and interests. Experts believe that the new app will surely be a hit and will be on millions of devices within 24 hours of release.

However, publishers are worried that they will no longer have control and dominion in the industry once the app is launched. Providing users easy access to news will somehow affect the online publishers. Readers will surely prefer reading news in Apple News where it is ad-free.
