Kanye West Addresses Racism, Violence at Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash 20

Kanye West used his performance during Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash 20 held at Atlanta's Philips Arena on Saturday evening, June 20, where he spewed lyrics on racism and violence in response of the brutal church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina.

The 38-year old rapper performed a stirring two-minute freestyle with a gloomy piano melody during his set. He repeatedly sang, "I think there's a couple more things that they owe us. Don't let them make you believe that I'm crazy, I'm not crazy." He then went on to rap on more topical issues, according to reports.

"See that's the magic of racism, it works on itself/ We hate each other, screw each other, kill each other/ When we can't kill nobody else," West said. "See that's the magic of lack of resources, it works on itself/ 500 niggas getting pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-popped, and North Carolina didn't help/ See that's the magic of racism, it works on itself."

West's performance also included a rendition of "Mercy" which featured Atlanta native 2 Chainz. The 'B.O.A.T.S: Me Time' rapper also shared on his official Instagram account that West hit an Atlanta studio with him.

After his meaningful performance at the Philips Arena, West along with the rest of his co-rappers went on a little celebration, hitting a nearby Waffle House. On Instagram, OutKast's Big Boi shared a photo of him, 2 Chainz and West smiling with a caption, "#Waffle house with yeezy".
