iPhone 5 Sold Out in Stores, More Shipments Expected Monday

Apple's iPhone 5 is sold out in most stores around the world. If you walk into a store, you might not find the iPhone 5 model or color of your choice. Online orders from Apple.com ship in 3-4 weeks, while AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint websites say 21-28 business days.

Most stores are expecting shipments on Monday, but prospective buyers should call in to check.

"Last year for the iPhone 4S, I had pre-ordered at Best Buy but didn't get my iPhone until 4 weeks after I pre-ordered. This year, I think it'll be worse because of such huge demand," said Kevin Chui, an avid Apple user in NYC.

Long lines were spotted around the world as Apple stores and network providers, with people waiting one to two days early.

Analysts estimate that 8 million iPhone 5's were sold on the first weekend, practically double the 4 million iPhone 4S' sold on opening weekend. Apple is expected to release sales figures on Monday.

The iPhone 5 is sold for $199 for a 16 gigabyte model, $299 for 32 gigabytes, and $399 for 64 gigabytes. Read more about iPhone 5's pricing here.
