Jesse Eisenberg Talks About Playing Lex Luthor in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' [VIDEO]

There is a lot to expect in the highly anticipated DC flick 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' and most of it has to do with the two good guys who will finally take on each other on the big screen.

People have been engrossed with how Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne is going to defeat Henry Cavill's Clark Kent that they have forgotten about the comic book villain who will be in the movie.

Jesse Eisenberg, who has gone bald to play Lex Luthor in 'Dawn of Justice,' recently spoke to MTV about his character and how he intends to play the role.

When the 'Social Network' actor was asked why he decided to take the role, he immediately praised the film's screenwriter.

"It's a really great character that's written by this guy, Chris Terrio, he's a phenomenal writer," Eisenberg said. "He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into it. It's a great character, there's an emotional core to the character. It's not this silly, villainous character."

When he was asked if his portrayal was based on Gene Hackman's infamous take on the villain from the 'Superman' movies of the 1980s, Eisenberg stated that it wasn't.

"No, that's an entirely different thing. Also the tone of that movie is so different, that movie wouldn't be made that way now," he said. "The way we expect movies to be now, which is for the best probably, we expect there to be some kind of psychological accuracy. That the person is coming from a place that's probably diagnosable in some ways."

Before he makes his debut as Superman's archnemesis, Eisenberg will star in 'American Ultra' as a stoner who turns out to be a sleeper government agent who tries to save his girlfriend (Kristen Stewart). The film will be released on August 21, 2015.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will premiere on March 25, 2016.
