[WATCH] Hilary Duff’s Jam Session In Her Backyard For “Tattoo” Music Video [PHOTOS]

Hilary Duff just dropped her first studio album in eight years two days ago. But now the former "Lizzie McGuire" star is determined to show that's she's back in music for good.

On Thursday, Hilary posted a music video for her new single, "Tattoo" on YouTube. While it's not the official music video, the acoustic rendition she performs in her backyard with her guitarist is equally as beautiful, if not better.

Duff went without the glam and opted to go casual in army green jeans and a white sheer peasant top. However, she's still blonde in the video, which probably means it was shot a long time ago - before she started experimenting with unicorn hues on her tresses.

The video features Hilary Duff calmly singing about a heart-wrenching breakup. She explains, "It's a really heartfelt, honest song about getting burned and not feeling appreciated in a relationship, and the marks you get left with at the end," talking to Vulture.

Hilary continued to explain the idea for the new video, "I wanted to share a really stripped-down version of the song to give people an idea what the song is about."

The new video for the single is a far cry from her Tinder-filled "Sparks" music video. Duff talks to Entertainment Weekly about her album's name, "Breathe In. Breathe Out" came to be.

"Over the past few years of my life it's been something that really helped me - just taking a deep breath in and letting a deep breath out," she said.

She continues to explain, "It can be a good thing, it can be a struggle, it can be a power thing - it's just a good reminder for everyone to remember to do that. It's a relief."
