Emma Stone Reveals Why She Isn't Doing 'GhostBusters'

Emma Stone is one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood today, with several studios wanting to sign her on to their films. Stone has already proven her talent and comedic timing in movies like 'Superbad,' 'Zombieland' and 'Easy A,' and even got an Academy Award nomination for her performance in 'Birdman.'

It would come to no surprise that Stone was offered a role in the upcoming all-female reboot of 'Ghostbusters,' which already has Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig in its cast. However, the actress allegedly turned down the offer.

Stone recently revealed to Wall Street Journal why she passed on the role of a lifetime.

"The script was really funny," Stone said. "It just didn't feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment-it's a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water."

The actress has previously been in one of the biggest Marvel franchises. Stone starred as Gwen Stacy in 'The Amazing Spiderman' and 'The Amazing Spiderman 2.'

Stone also shared an advice she was given by 'Zombieland' costar Bill Murray.

"He told me to keep some things I love just for me," the actress said. "The idea is to have some things that you don't feel like you need to share with the world. To have some things that are only yours."

She may be referring to her relationship with Andrew Garfield, who played the title role in the last two 'Spiderman' movies. Stone also addressed the issue in her interview, but continued to say she wouldn't talk about it.

Stone recently starred in the Broadway musical 'Cabaret' and is currently working on a musical called La La Land. The film also stars Ryan Gosling, who she has worked with in 'Gangster Squad' and 'Crazy Stupid Love.'
