Casino tycoon and a real estate investor Kirk Kerkorian, who is one of the wealthiest man in the world, died at the age of 98 on Monday night but the cause of death was not released.
The general counsel of Kerkorian's company, Richard E. Sobelle confirmed the sad news and undisclosed the cause.
"MGM Resorts and our family of 62,000 employees are honoring the memory of a great man, a great business leader, a great community leader, an innovator and one of our country's greatest generation, MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren said in a statement.
"Mr. Kerkorian combined brilliant business insight with steadfast integrity to become one of the most reputable and influential financiers of our time," according to USA Today.
Kerkorian is from a poor family, a school drop out with odd jobs. But this was not a dent in him venturing in business world. He battled with his business rivals and developed the necessary keys to face the challenges. Now, he is the 393rd wealthiest man in the world with a net worth of $4 Billion Dollars.
The Billionaire helped in the rise of Las Vegas, making it one of the famous tourist spots in the world. The businessman even tried to take over the automaker Chrysler but he didn't succeed.
The business tycoon created a commercial airline, which he sold, but bought back and resold it again totally. He also bought MGM and sold it three times. He also made a successful bid on the giant casino, Mirage Resorts.
He also donated hundreds of millions of dollars to different charities worldwide.
Kerkorian also donated a huge amount of money, which is said to be $180 million to Armenia. The donation is said to fund rebuilding of highways and support housing projects that got hit by an earthquake on 1988, according to Armeniapedia.
