The film adaptation of J.K Rowling's Harry Potter spin-off book has found a Tina.
It was previously reported that several actresses were up for the role of Tina in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.' Supermodel Kate Upton was being considered for the part, and 'The Great Gatsby' star Elizabeth Debicki was being eyed to play the witch as well.
THR has just announced that the coveted role has been given to Katherine Waterston. The 'Inherent Vice' actress will star opposite Eddie Redmayne, who has been cast as magizoologist Newt Scamander.
In the film, Newt goes to New York City to search for magical creatures to document in his book. His trip leads him to Porpentina, or Tina for short. The young witch and her younger sister Queenie are some of the people Newt encounters throughout his journey.
The role of Queenie is still up for grabs. There have been several young actresses considered for the part, including Dakota Fanning, Saoirse Ronan, Alison Sudol and Lilli Simmons.
The film adaptation will be a true Rowling project, as the author will work on the screenplay with Steve Kloves. David Yates will direct the film, which is set 70 years before Harry Potter steps into Hogwarts.
The book itself has previously appeared in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.' It is a required textbook for first-year Hogwarts students and contains information about the Basilisk as well as the dreaded Acromantula.
Rowling later wrote and published the book under the pseudonym 'Newt Scamander.' She recently tweeted about finding the perfect Tina for the film.
