Rita Ora Breakup With Calvin Harris: ‘I Thought He Had My Back’ [PHOTOS]

24-year-old Rita Ora seems to be nonchalantly warning Taylor Swift about the latter's new lover.

The British singer and the 31-year-old music producer previously dated for almost a year from May 2013 until early 2014, and revealed the reasons behind their breakup to Marie Claire magazine in an interview.

So happy to be @marieclairemag U.S Cover star this July!! So honoured! Thank you guys! #album2 #itscoming #POiSoN

Ora said, "There was a reason why I split up with him. And there was a reason why I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don't have to explain myself to anybody."

She continued, "It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong. I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong."

It seems as though Rita felt some unsettling irony with the break up. "But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what," she shared.

When the collaborative single was released, the two were having trouble in paradise. In fact, Rita Ora told Ryan Seacrest in August that Harris kept Ora from performing the track at the Teen Choice Awards.

"For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song. So he has to approve anything TV-wise... and obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards," the "Southpaw" actress revealed.

A day later, Calvin tweeted in response to Rita's words. "You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life. But just know I had a damn good reason," Harris wrote.
