Miley Cyrus is teaming up with Instagram for a new campaign to help raise awareness and acceptance of issues facing the LGBT community.
The singer launched her new #InstaPride campaign, but she is not the subject of the photoshoot that was held in a high-ceiling studio in Hollywood, California.
Instead, the 22-year-old pop star is the photographer, shooting portraits of people who identify as transgender, genderqueer and gender non-conforming.

They’re the stars of a new social justice campaign called Happy Hippies, a nonprofit organization focused on helping homeless and LGBT youth founded by the 'Wrecking Ball' singer.
Cyrus announced the new campaign on Instagram: "Over the next 2 weeks, you'll meet them and the people in their lives who support them, as we highlight their stories of resilience," she continued in her post.

#InstaPride debuted Monday with 19-year-old film student Leo Sheng, who has been documenting his transition.

"The most obvious theme of my page is my transition from female to male," Sheng wrote in an Instagram blog post. "For me, a picture really does say a thousand words."
The photo captions also incorporate quotes from the subject about their personal experience opening up about their gender identities. Leo is hoping to spread awareness through him voicing out his experience.
"I hope that my portrait can inspire those who have the ability to share their own stories to find their voices," he wrote. "If there's anything that the last few years have taught me, it's that living an unapologetic existence is the most freeing thing you can do."
Last week, Cyrus talked about her sexuality in Paper magazine.
"I'm down with any adult," Cyrus told the mag. "Anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl."
