'Empire' Taraji P. Henson Admits She Got Rejected For Being Too Old For Hollywood!

Taraji P. Henson is the celebrity ambassador at the 19th annual American Black Film Festival, which is the largest black film festival. The actress who plays 'Cookie' in the highly rated Fox TV program 'Empire" sat down with Gayle King on Friday, and talked candidly about her life and even admits she received multiple rejections and considered too old for Hollywood, the Source reported.

The 44 year old Mom admitted that she got pregnant at an early age, but still managed to finish her college while taking care of her son Marcell. 

Taraji admitted to Gayle King how she strove hard to be noticed in Hollywood, trying to land roles in a movie however she was rejected many times for different reasons, "she was too old", too ugly and so forth.

After facing some rejections, Taraji has appeared in numerous films and was actually nominated for an Academy Award. Now she is the lead actress who plays the abusive and homophobic character of Cookie Lyon in the highly rated television series 'Empire,' whichlocks in 17.5 million viewers.

After the continuous smashing hits in its premiere, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard posed together on the red carpet at the Monte Carlo Festival on Saturday to celebrate the success of the first season of their program, according to Mail Online.

'Empire' season 2 is set to return on September 23 at Fox, which is scheduled for 18 episodes and is said to have scenes even hotter than episode 1. This according to International Business Times in a statement made by Taraji P. Henson (Cookie) and Terrence Howard (Lucious) when they announced the official date of the premiere.

The new season will have more fascinating love affairs as  Adam Rodriguez will join the TV series as Cookie's potential love interest.
