Golden Globe Winner Ron Moody Dies at 91

Ron Moody born Ronald Moodnick, a son of a Jewish immigrants dies at 91 years old . He was born  in London on January 8, 1924. Ron Moody, was nominated and won the best-actor for Oscars and the Golden Globe, for his role as Fagin in the musical Oliver. 

Ronald U.K. media reports the London native - Ron Mood survived by his wife, Therese, and six children.

BAFTA tweeted: "We are saddened to learn that Ron Moody has passed away,"

The BBC stated - Ron Moody's widow Therese said:  "he would be greatly missed" and the widow added: "He brought joy to his family and to the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. He was singing until the end."

Moody did not take up acting seriously until his late 20's, as the actor originally planned to become an economist.

The big break of Ron Moody came in the 1960's, portraying the role of Fagin, a pickpocket gang leader in Oliver. it was an adaptation of the Broadway musical based Dickens's Oliver Twist.

Moody said: "Fate destined me to play Fagin. It was the part of a lifetime."

Ron Moody repeated his part in the play in a 1984 revival on Broadway, and got a Tony Award nomination for best actor in a musical.

Moody said that for better or worse, the role would come to define him.

"I suspect that, because I gave my all to the role, and because I was working with such a fine team of people, it inhibited my future career," Ron told the Guardian in 2012. "I turned down quite a few offers afterwards because I thought the people didn't come close to those I'd worked with on Oliver! - which in retrospect was a mistake."

One of Moody's happiest time of his life was in the summer of 1967, when he played the number in Reviewing the Situation.
