Manager Confirmed - Katy Perry 'Not Involved' in '1984' Song

Last Monday, the music publisher BMI registered the song called "1984" and listed Katy Perry as the artist - this made a blast on the Internet. People quickly speculated that it was Katy Perry's revenge song for Taylor Swift.

The random netizen's speculations were all wrong as Katy Perry's manager stated that it was not true.

A statement of the managers to Entertainment Weekly: "Katy Perry's managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false," the managers said: "Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song."

According to Yahoo - one of the song's so-called co-writers, Patrick Collier, posted on his Instagram account regarding the song "1984" with "news to me" as the caption. But the post on Instagram was deleted.

The music publisher BMI also responded to the issue, and said that the "1984" song was registered last September by BMG Platinum Songs. And the song remains on BMI's site that credited Austin Dallas, Carlsson Andreas Michael, Collier Patrick, and Tokio Mazerine as songwriters - and the "Artists" tag was named under Katy Perry.

The song '1984' doesn't just signify that Katy Perry was also born in 1984, but it was also seen as a play on Taylor Swift's hit album, 1989. In Taylor's album, it features the song "Bad Blood" - a song rumored to be about the Taylor and Katy feud.

US WEEKLY posted about the two artists' feud - in their recent post Katy said: "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," the "Shake It Off" singer stated: "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' Then last year she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!"
