Campfire favorite s'mores has been incorporated into products as an innovation strategy. Many brands like Oreo, Goldfish, McDonald's McFlurry, Mama Mellace, Hershey's, Pillsbury, Breyers, and Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats have incorporated a s'mores variation into their product lines.
Planters Peanuts is following the trend with its release of the Planters S'mores & Nut Mix. The well-known peanut brand is offering a s'mores and nuts combination in one package.
Based on the product's packaging, the mix consists of roasted peanuts, chocolate candy pieces, dark cocoa almonds, marshmallow pieces, and yogurt coated graham cracker pieces.
However, there's one perplexing thought that follows upon reading the ingredients. S'mores is known to have three simple ingredients - marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. So many s'mores aficionados are left to wonder where the idea for yogurt coating came from.
Upon hearing the news, Anne Sutton commented, "Now why does the graham cracker need to be covered in yogurt??? What part of a s'more is yogurt???"
One user also cared to share his thoughts on how the S'mores and Nut Mix actually tastes like. "I picked up a can of this mix at [Walmart] and didn't like it much. The marshmallow bits had a weird taste and the texture."
Anonymous continued, "I can't describe the taste but it definitely didn't taste like you'd expect a marshmallow to taste. The texture reminded me of a circus peanut. Not too good in my opnion. The chocolate almonds were pretty good but that's kind of all I ate out of the can."
After man invented fire, I went back and invented a reason not to need it. #PlantersSmores

But it seems as though the product depends on one's taste. Steven also shared his experience with the limited edition mix. "Found these at Publix and my co-workers and I devoured them. It's been my snack of choice ever since. Great flavor."
Food Beast reports that the snack has the ability to add a significant amount of protein in an individual's diet. The Planters S'mores & Nut Mix costs $2.99 for the 6.5-oz re-sealable bag, while the 16-oz cans cost $7.99.
