[WATCH] Goateed Superman, Vampiric Batman, Goddess Wonder Woman in 'Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles' Trailer [VIDEO]

Fans of Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman are in for a dark surprise. DC and Warner Bros. have partnered with media streaming website Machinima to create a new movie that presents a different side of the beloved superheroes.

The movie, titled 'Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles,' takes place in an alternate universe where Superman was raised by Mexican immigrants. Instead of Bruce Wayne as Batman, it features Kirk Langstrom as a scientist who accidentally turns himself into a blood-sucking Man-Bat. In this universe, Wonder Woman is Bekka, who is married to fellow New God Orion.

'Gods and Monsters Chronicles' will be available in mid-summer, but Machinima will also be releasing a three-part series that focuses on the main characters. A trailer has been uploaded on the online film producer's Youtube channel to give fans a glimpse of what to expect.

The video is introduced by Bruce Timm, who has co-written the movie as well as the series. The film's synopsis is as follows:

"In an alternative history Zod is Superman's father, Batman is a vampiric Man-Bat, and Wonder Woman is the child of Ares, God of War. When these dark heroes form an alliance, the question everyone asks is will they save the world, or rule it?"

'Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles' will feature the voice talents of Benjamin Bratt (Superman/Zod), Michael C. Hall (Batman), Jason Isaacs (Lex Luthor) and C. Thomas Howell (Dr. Will Magnus). Tamara Taylor will provide the voice of Wonder Woman while Paget Brewster is the voice of Lois Lane.

The series and movie is directed by Sam Liu and produced by Timm and Sam Register. The first part of the three-part series will be available on Machinima's website starting June 8, 2015. The film will be direct-to-video and can be purchased starting July 28, 2015.
