The first model of Lexus is LS400 that was introduced in 1989, made to reach the standard level of luxurycars like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar. In 1995 they based their LX luxury SUV on the Toyota Land Cruiser.
Today with a price under $40,000, Lexus introduces the 2015 Lexus NX, a luxurious sport utility vehicle. A much smaller model of Lexus' top-selling RX 350 mid-size SUV but still provides car-like ride.
Chief Engineer Takeaki Kato said: "The NX was developed as a Premium SUV having high performance, packaged with an alluring exterior and interior design, creating a sense of desire. Apart from the luxury touches, the NX was designed to complement daily life while also being capable of supporting an active lifestyle on the weekend."
NX has an engine with a turbocharged four-cylinder that can set off at 235 horsepower. And out of the Lexus' models the 2015 Lexus NX is the first to have that kind of engine.
From Lexus SUV - the RX 350, which starts at $41,715, it is $6,490 cheaper, for the manufacturer's starting retail price for a 2015 Lexus NX is $35,405. The best deal a buyer can obtain.A reasonable price for a front-wheel drive, a turbo four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission.
The European competitors might be in the front sit in terms of competition against Lexus, but the additional features and the experience of a silky smooth and quieter-than-expected ride trademarks Lexus.
