Zac Efron and Emily Ratajkowski Star in 'We Are Your Friends' Trailer [VIDEO]

There have been many movies about aspiring young musicians who finally make it big time. These young people start out with big dreams and finally get a big break, but not before some trials and hardships along the way.

Zac Efron's new film is only slightly different, because he isn't a pop singer or a rock star. In 'We Are Your Friends,' the actor plays a DJ. Model Emily Ratajkowski plays the love interest caught in the musical love triangle.

A new trailer for the movie has just been released with the following synopsis:

"'We Are Your Friends' is about what it takes to find your voice. Set in the world of electronic music and Hollywood nightlife, an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole (Efron) spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire. All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James (Bentley), who takes him under his wing."

Although things are supposed to go smoothly, Cole starts to fall in love with James' girlfriend Sophie. Friendships are tested and the young DJ has decide between love and destiny.

Efron is best known playing the athlete-turned-singer Troy Bolton in the teen movie series 'High School Musical.' He also had a lead role in the 2007 film adaptation of the Broadway musical 'Hairspray.' The actor also starred opposite Taylor Schilling in the romantic drama 'The Lucky One.'

Efron's most recent project was the Seth Rogen comedy 'Neighbors' released earlier this year.

Ratajkowski's big break was in the controversial music video for 'Blurred Lines' by Robin Thicke and Pharrel. She had a minor role as Ben Affleck's lover in the film adaptation of 'Gone Girl.'

'We Are Your Friends' will arrive in theaters on August 28, 2015.
