Spotify And Starbucks Team Up For ‘Ecosystem’ Making DJs Out Of Baristas!

The Seattle-based company has prided itself on being "hip" over its decades of business and massive worldwide expansion, and that has long included its ambiance through music - now, only a couple of months after making the announcement they'd be leaving CDs behind in their stores, Spotify and Starbucks are now teaming up!

There's little surprise in seeing that Spotify and Starbucks are teaming up, as the two companies have sold a certain ethos since their very start, and, despite a very public fight with country singer turned pop star Taylor Swift, Spotify has continued to be arguably the top music streaming website in the world.

According to Rolling Stone, the new deal between Spotify and Starbucks goes as follows: baristas and other employees from the major chain will get Spotify Premium subscription along with special tools to change up the music patrons hear in the coffee houses around the country as they're having a drink.

As CNET reports, this Spotify-Starbucks partnership will basically turn Starbucks employees (particularly their famous baristas) into DJs, and the move comes less than six months after the coffee giant announced they'd stop selling CDs after having done so for years, as one of the things the company's most famous for is its music picks.

The new Spotify-Starbucks deal will also connect with the coffeemakers' loyalty program, which is composed of about 10 million people and recently took flask over system insecurity, as many user accounts were hacked and people's bank accounts drained.

Besides baristas being able to DJ, other uses in the partnership will include that Spotify users will receive "Stars as Currency" for their My Starbucks Rewards points

Forbes calls the new partnership "co-branding genius," marking the first time ever that Starbucks brings in a third party for their loyalty program in an alliance that could potentially be heavily beneficial for both Spotify and Starbucks.
