NYC Restaurant Regular Art Mogul Leaves $100,000 Inheritance To Favorite Servers

NYC Restaurant regular customer of 50 years, Robert "King of Ming" Ellsworth made a memorable goodbye to two of his favorite waitresses. After being fond of eating at Donahue's Steak House, the Art Asian mogul made sure that her favorite servers receive $100,000 in his will when he pass away.

Maureen Donohue-Peters, 53, and her niece, Maureen Barrie, 28 couldn't contain their happiness and gratitude to what the NYC Restaurant regular customer gave them. Unfamiliar with their last names, Ellsworth used to refer their names as "Maureen at Donohue's" and "Maureen-at-Donohue's Niece Maureen."

The NYC Restaurant servers Maureen Donohue-Peters and Maureen Barrie only learned about the inheritance of $50,000 each after Ellsworth death.  It was in December when they were contacted by Ellsworth's lawyer about the inheritance.

The world's wealthiest Asian-art collector died in August at the age of 85.

"I was shocked,'' Maureen Donohue-Peters, 53 said. "I just couldn't believe it. I didn't expect anything."

Donohue-Peters is the daughter of Donahue's Steak House founder. "Out of eight meals, he ate seven here. We were his dining room," Donohue-Peters told New York Post.

"He was a wonderful man and a dear friend," Donohue-Peters' niece, Maureen Barrie, 28, said.

Although Ellsworth was famous for his enormous Asian antiques collection, he was recognized in the NYC Restaurant as "Bob," WCVB reported.

Robert "King of Ming" Ellsworth was recognized as world's wealthiest Asian-art collector with a net worth value of $200 million. Ellsworth dine in at the NYC Restaurant very often that he comes there to eat seven meals in a week, Syracuse added.

The NYC Restaurant, where Ellsworth was dining is located at Lexington Avenue near East 64th Street. It was a famous restaurant serving notable people including Matt Lauer, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen, and Timothy Cardinal Dolan.
