Adam Sandler RACIST? Native American Actors Walk Out Of Adam Sandler Movie Set Over Racist Stereotypes

One of the richest comedians in Hollywood, the SNL alum from the 1990s Golden Era has been called many things (often, by detractors, just plain old unfunny), but it's the first time that the possibility of Adam Sandler is racist comes out into the public.

Currently, the actor and comedian is in Las Vegas, New Mexico, shooting a comedy called "The Ridiculous Six," a western parody, and recently it has come out that Adam Sandler's racist stereotypes portrayed in the movie may have caused the film's Native American cast members to walk out in disgust at the way their nation is showed in the screenplay.

Production for the film began earlier this month, and, although it's supposed to involve the way old cowboy movies portrayed Native Americans, it seems like the production team has taken things a bit too far.

Native American outlet Indian Country Today Media Network reports that Adam Sandler's racist movie screenplay caused about a dozen of actors and actresses of Native American origin (mostly Navajo) to walk out of the project earlier this week over "offensive" stereotypes.

CNN reports that the Adam Sandler racist controversy surrounds unfortunate and offensive choices in representation, such as women's names like "Beaver's Breath" and "No Bra" as well as some other major disrespectful representations such as an Apache woman squatting and urinating while smoking from a peace pipe.

"Right from the get-go, it didn't feel right. But we it let it go," said Loren Anthony, a Navajo actor working in the Adam Sandler racist film as an extra, according to CBC. "Once we found out more about the script, we felt it was totally disrespectful to elders and Native women."

The film is part of a deal Sandler made with Netflix, and there'll be four comedy films in total.

"It is a broad satire of Western movies and the stereotypes they popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only part of - but in on - the joke," said Netflix in a statement, as Adam Sandler racist controversy rises.
