Five Food Festivals to Check Out This Summer

Since The Great Googa Mooga was a bit disappointing, here are more food festivals for you to check out this summer. Time to get your grub on.

Bonnaroo
True, these are the same organizers that brought the (Not So) Great Googa Mooga to Brooklyn, but Bonnaroo -- June 7-10 in Manchester, Tennessee -- has a track record of tastiness and great tunes. Thousands of people will head to the Food Truck Oasis in between shows. If you could get tickets, it's worth the trip.

Aspen Food and Wine Classic
Head to Aspen, Colorado from June 15-17 to take part in the 30th anniversary of the Food and Wine Classic. Featuring cooking demos, tastings, and talks, there's plenty to take part in. The schedule is packed. While some events are private, non-professionals will certainly enjoy the weekend.

Taste of Chicago
From July 11-15, Chicago, Illinois is hosting Taste of Chicago. For five days, gourmands can indulge in a wide variety of food. There are also diverse concerts as part of the event, featuring diverse sounds from Jennifer Hudson, to Death Cab for Cutie to Dierks Bently. Tickets are only $25. Cooking demonstrations from Master Chef finalist Alejanda Schrader have mouths already watering.

San Francisco Street Food Festival
The website for this festival calls it a way of celebrating "the talent, the taste and the entrepreneurial spirit of people who make a living doing what they love to do." The evening before the big event is the first-ever San Francisco Night Market, which will be the official kick-off, with drinks and dancing. The yummy gathering is one day only -- August 18 -- so don't miss out!

Bremerton Blackberry Festival
End your summer with scrumptiousness at the Bremerton Blackberry Festival in Bremerton, Washington from September 1-3. Taste some famous blackberry wine and pair it with the eclectic food options available, or get some of the blackberry flavor in sodas, jams, scones, sundaes, or shortcakes. Though the venders for this year aren't announced yet on the website, past years have featured honey bar-b-que, taffy, hot links, gyros, crepes, and more. Dig in!
