Mark Hamill Abrams: Luke Skywalker Distrusted J.J. Abrams For ‘Star Wars’ … Because He Directed ‘Star Trek’!

The upcoming "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is one of the most highly anticipated films in recent years, as it begins a new trilogy of the one of the most widely loved science fiction franchises of all time - but it seems like, at first, one of the stars didn't trust the director, as Mark Hamill's Abrams opinion is revealed!

J.J. Abrams has turned into one of the go-to guys when it comes to recreating major space experiences in well-loved franchises, as he was the one who helmed the most recent "Star Trek" movies - and it's just that experience that made Mark Hamill's Abrams opinion on the suspicious side!

According to Yahoo! News, in a recent interview during his panel at Star Wars Celebration, Mark Hamill's Abrams thoughts were made clear, as he stated that, when he first realized the "Star Trek: Into Darkness" director would be helming the new "Star Wars" movie.

The Daily Mail reports that the "Return of the Jedi" actor stated that he didn't have much of a choice when he was cast in the upcoming movie, where he'll co-star once again with Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, saying it was like he'd been "drafted" - but it took a while before Mark Hamill and Abrams got along properly.

'I was a little suspicious because he was a Star Trek guy,' said the actor according to The Independent, recounting finding out about Mark Hamill's Abrams appearance; he then clarified that he actually enjoyed the "Star Trek" universe, but that "it just seems odd."

No surprise there, considering "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" fans have been sworn enemies for decades, they fight the title of which one is the best space-themed film franchise - and Hamill wasn't the only one concerned when news of Abrams directing came out.

In any case, it seems like Mark Hamill's Abrams opinion changed in time - and from what fans have seen from posters and teaser trailers, looks like his work was absolutely amazing!
