Jon Stewart Net Worth: ‘The Daily Show’ Made Host A Rich Man, Why Is He Leaving Comedy Central?

Over and over again, it has been said that the host of "The Daily Show" has revolutionized the genre of talk shows, and for that there's no surprise in seeing how high Jon Stewart's net worth is - but, as he's about to leave the show that made him a star after 16 years helming it, many wonder why he's going away.

A few months back, the host and comedian stated that, whatever Jon Stewart's net worth after "The Daily Show" was, he was planning on leaving the show after having helmed it for years, also having given current talk show stars like Stephen Colbert and John Oliver their first breaks in the medium.

In the past, Food World News has reported on some of Stewart's biggest landmarks of these few months, including his decision to retire from the show, his heavy criticism of Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the US Congress and even his take on the Kraft Singles Cheese controversy, none of which greatly affected Jon Stewart's net worth.

Now, the famous host has finally spoken out about why he's leaving the show after it made Jon Stewart's net worth grow at a rapid pace over his 16 years in the medium.

In a recent interview with the UK news outlet The Guardian, as he was asked what had caused him to quit the show that made Jon Stewart's net worth among the highest of television personalities, he said that, while he had "the most perfect job in the world," he'd felt disillusioned with the way American politics, his main source of comedy, were being handled.

"It's not like I thought the show wasn't working any more, or that I didn't know how to do it. It was more, 'Yup, it's working. But I'm not getting the same satisfaction,'" he said in the recent interview. "These things are cyclical. You have moments of dissatisfaction, and then you come out of it and it's OK. But the cycles become longer and maybe more entrenched, and that's when you realize, 'OK, I'm on the back side of it now.'"

At the time of his announcement to quit the show and after Comedy Central announced Trevor Noah would be taking his spot, Celebrity Net Worth lists Jon Stewart's net worth at $80 million, with an annual salary ranging from $20 to $20 million.
