The new trailer for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" is the new talk of the town all over the Internet, as it brings back the beloved trio from the original 70s-80s trilogy, namely Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford; however, it has also brought the question on whether Darth Vader's alive.
As fans of the original trilogy know, the main villain of the entire saga and the father of twins Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker died after a series of fights with his son and the Galactic Emperor Palpatine; however, the new trailer shows that, 30 years after the events of "The Return of the Jedi," there's a possibility that Darth Vader's alive.
Ever since the "Force Awakens" trailer came out last Thursday at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, rumors and conspiracy theories about the possibility that Darth Vader's alive started appearing all over the Internet, as fans hope that the role that made Hayden Christensen famous gets more screen time now.
As Sydney Morning Herald reports, rumors that Darth Vader's alive first began as the trailer showed a phrase that's repeated from "Return of the Jedi." In the 1981 film, the way he tells Leia that they're brother and sister is by recounting that the Force is strong in his family, as his father has it as well - however, the teaser adds an extra phrase to this, telling someone that "you have that power too," implying that he's talking to a new generation of Skywalkers.
However, alarms went off for fans when it transpired that he'd still spoken of Darth Vader as alive, using the present tense to say that his father "has" the Force, instead of "had" it.
Entertainment Weekly wrote an entire article about the possibility, naming above all that the "Star Wars" universe is big on clones, and that there's a possibility that there's a new version of the movie villain now.
It's still a few months to know whether it's true that Darth Vader's alive after all these years!
