Ever since its birth, Apple's iCloud has had an app to make things easier when people can't locate their phones or tablets, and the new Find my Phone Google app takes a step into the same direction, following the company's tradition of merging their different services into an all-encompassing one.
It's happened to everyone in the world that they can't seem to locate their phone anywhere, as the small devices will often end up between cushions or even under car seats - but the Find my Phone Google search could make things much easier now.
According to Android Police, the new Find my Phone Google search service takes one step further in the company's genie-like status, following little cheats like the ability to check if a plane is on time by just googling the flight number or checking out which movies are on theaters near you.
Life Hacker reports that the Find my Phone Google search is connected to the Android Device Manager, an useful app for security for some time now, as it hunts down the right bookmark when it's hard to locate where your devices are; now, the company's making things a little bit easier.
Basically, the feature, an extension of the Android Device Manager dashboard, allows users to Find my Phone Google search and select which of their Android devices they're looking for from a drop-down menu to see their location on a map, even ringing it for a total of five minutes in case they still can't find it.
According to Gizmodo, though, the more complex features of Android Device Manager still need Android users to install the app; for example, if they want to wipe their phones remotely when it's been stolen.
In any case, for those who tend to leave their devices anywhere, the Find my Phone Google search tool is a great Android addition!
