As the biggest music festival in the United Kingdom approaches, every once in a while the people behind it speak about who's going to be a part of the grand summer event, and now Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury performance has been added to the list, alongside a few of music's biggest names.
A few weeks back, long before Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury appearance was confirmed, Food World News reported that the act that had been announced as the line-up topper, Kanye West, was meeting with some serious rejection after a rock fan created a petition that went into the hundreds of thousands to keep Kim Kardashian's husband away from the traditional rock festival.
Now, Sydney Morning Herald reports that Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury performance is confirmed for the famous festival, alongside other music giants such as Patti Smith and Lionel Ritchie (whose set will have the most amazing intro: The Dalai Lama himself) - though it's obviously the "Happy" singer that's getting the most headlines.
According to The Guardian, besides Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury appearance, other major artists that will be performing at the festival will be Sleaford Mods, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Florence and the Machine - the latter of which should be in full throttle by that point, after lead singer Florence Welch recently broke her foot at another festival, the famous Coachella in California.
The Independent reports that other additions to the festival besides Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury will include rock band Foo Fighters (who haven't attended Glastonbury since 1998), DeadMau5, The Chemical Brothers, Jamie XX, Hot Chip, Caribou, Rudimental, Paloma Faith, Charlie XCX, Robert Pattison's girlfriend FKA Twigs and Motörhead.
As usual, the Glastonbury Festival will feature some of the biggest names in show business. Line-up headliners in the past have included Jay-Z and wife Beyoncé, both of who received criticism over not being rock enough for the festival - though it's unsure what'll be the reaction to Pharrell Williams' Glastonbury appearance.
