One of the show's main cast members since its very beginning, Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story" time was thought to be over, as co-star Jessica Lange recently confirmed she'd be leaving the show and wouldn't be starring in its fifth season, "Hotel."
Over the past few weeks, Food World News has reported every different update about the new season of the anthology series, including Wes Bentley's, Kathy Bates' and Matt Bomer's confirmation that they'd all be returning, always bearing in mind rumors that Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story" return wouldn't be a sure thing for the "Down with Love" actress.
Now, according to Entertainment Weekly, Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story" return was recently confirmed by Ryan Murphy, the show's co-creator, who took to Twitter last Monday to announce that the Emmy nominated actress would be checking into the new season, entitled "Hotel."
"Sarah Paulson is checking into "Hotel." And this season, she's the baddest bad girl of them all. #AHSSeason5," tweeted Murphy, thus announcing the return of Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story" performance.
The Huffington Post reports that there's little further information about Paulson's return or the season's story in general other than the fact that it's somehow related to the top hat clue from last season (Freak Show).
According to Hollywood Reporter, in the past the actress has spoken candidly about her love for working on the show, stating that she'd never felt "so completely seen" in any other project.
The show, an anthology series of eerie horror stories with a different theme each season (the past seasons' titles have been Murder House, Asylum, Coven and Freak Show, respectively), has given the actress strong recognition, even being nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes for Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story" work - which does quite explain why she's returning for a fifth shot!
In any case, Sarah Paulson's "American Hororr Story" return is set for next fall!
