Baby Sea Lion Detained By Deputy Officials Caught In Adorable Camera Shot! Starving Sea Lion Left Home In Search For Food!

Baby Sea Lion, detained in a squad car was held by the officers after it was spotted wandering around in Imperial Beach high school in San Diego, California. It seemed that the baby sea lion had been bored in his home and fled to find new place to stroll. The Baby Sea Lion detained was caught on Wednesday.

It is not yet known how the Baby Sea Lion detained reached Mar Vista High School, about five blocks from the Imperial beach. It was only reported that a baby sea lion was seen roving around the campus when the school administrators called the local police, the Take Part reported.

As soon as the local officers arrived in Mar Vista High School, the adorable sea creature was placed in a lock cell inside the car squad before it was handed down to the Animal Control and SeaWorld employees, who will be caring for the sea lion.

On Friday, the police officers made a cute post on its Twitter page that says:

It seems that the San Diego Sheriff has been very pleased not to arrest a criminal this time, but an adorable sea lion. They wrote in a funny statement on Friday, the Baby Sea Lion detained which they call the ‘little guy’ was caught without incident in the back of the patrol car.
The deputies added comical statement that when the Baby Sea Lion detained at the back of the car was about to be interviewed by the Deputy Sheriffs, the sea lion “clammed-up and requested his lawyer..."

The charming photo of the Baby Sea Lion detained at the back of the car made instant wave in the internet that day.
The Baby Sea Lion caught wandering in the high school campus was not the first one founded along the area. In fact, according to the New York Daily News, the numbers of sea lions being rescued is apparently increasing and has indicated a major panic for the local officials to act immediately.

From Jan. 1 to March 15, the Baby Sea Lion detained in California has reached to over 1,100.

Although the story of the Baby Sea Lion detained may appear cute, the officials said that the issue was be dealt in a more serious matter. It was found that more sea lions are departing their habitat due to starvation when warm Pacific waters take away fish that these creatures feed on.

As a result, they hunt for food and leave their breeding grounds in the Channel Islands. For this reason, the Animal Control and SeaWorld have been very vigilant in rescuing the sea lions that were found to be starving and very sickly.

The Baby Sea Lion detained by the deputy officials was just one of the wanderers that had tried to search for food to survive. So far, the Animal Control and SeaWorld have rescued around 400 sea lions this year and there will be more Baby Sea Lion detained if this problem will not be solved on time.
