Rescue The Anorexic Girl App No More! - Amazon

Rescue The Anorexic Girl App was removed by Amazon Appstore on Thursday following rage of outcry from eating disorder advocates and the public. It will no longer be available, and people will not be able to throw food at a weak anorexic girl anymore.

A Whack-a-Mole style game, the Rescue The Anorexic Girl App instructs the players to toss food to the weak girl and when the player miss the chance, then the girl will lose weight and finally dies.

The game where players are like a "hero" was created by Las Vegas-based, the NY Daily News reports.

We are horrified to learn of Amazon's app, which actively encourages people to make fun of those struggling with life threatening eating disorders" Imogen Smith, a spokesperson for the Anorexia & Bulimia Care (ABC) charity in Britain said.

"Throwing food at a person struggling with anorexia nervosa, who has a serious disabling fear of food, in order to make them well suggests that anorexia is a fad and self-inflicted and not a complex psychological illness," Smith said. She added that it was as if the app were "making fun" of people with anorexia, and she was "horrified" by it.

The Rescue The Anorexic Girl App according to an Amazon official violated their "offensive content" standard. They insist, all the apps must abide their content guidelines. A spokesperson revealed that the app is no longer available in their store.

Earlier players for the Rescue The Anorexic Girl App would need to help anorexia girl to become healthy. The app says feed the weak girl with different goodies - sweet and regular including cakes, pastry, chicken, sandwiches. The game warns Just throw food at her when she appears.

Twitter users have also shown their protests online about the defunct Rescue The Anorexic Girl App.
