Facebook Divorce Papers: Manhattan Judge Makes It Easy For Nurse To Divorce Husband By Sending Facebook Divorce Papers

Facebook Divorce Papers can now be served through Facebook. This is what a U.S. Court has declared to a nurse who wants to file a divorce against her husband who has become elusive. The alleged Facebook divorce papers could be sent to her soon-to-be ex-husband for once a week for three weeks.

Last week, a nurse identified as Ellanora Baidoo, 26, was granted by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper to serve the defendant, his alleged husband's Facebook divorce papers. The divorce summons will be sent through private message, the TIME reported.

"This transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiff's attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged," Cooper said in the statement.

With the Facebook divorce papers served through private message, Copper explained that she could notify the defendant who has reported no contacts with the plaintiff except through the social networking site.

According to the report made by WSJ, an attempt to serve the divorce papers was done earlier, however, Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku did not respond to the request. Although personal delivery of the divorce summon is still the first priority, sending Facebook divorce papers could also be the best alternative.

By sending Facebook divorce papers through the social site, the judge explained that it will still serve its purpose. Copper regards sending Facebook divorce papers as "novel" and "nontraditional," however, it can be used to let the defendant know that he is being sued.

The Inquirer reported that Baidoo has been married to Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku in 2009 in a civil ceremony. However their union didn't last due to Blood-Dzraku's failure to fulfill a Ghanaian wedding. The publishing also reported that the defendant has no permanent address and no reported work address.

He has only contact with his wife through Facebook. The plaintiff's attorney, Andrew Spinnell stated that they have tried everything including a private detective and result has been the same.
