Jon Hamm Rehab: Don Draper Treated For Alcoholism Before Final ‘Mad Men’ Season

Known mostly for his Golden Globe-winning role as Don Draper in the iconic 60s AMC period drama, it seems like there's some truth in his performance of the troubled advertisement man, as the actor has just confirmed Jon Hamm's rehab only a few weeks ahead of the premiere of the final season of the show.

As fans of "Mad Men" can attest to, it has been a long descent into madness and decadence for the main character of the Emmy Award-winning drama, and news of Jon Hamm's rehab implies that the actor hasn't done so well himself in the past few months, though he was strong enough to reach out for help.

According to The Guardian, a spokesperson for the Golden Globe winner has confirmed the recent Jon Hamm rehab, as the actor apparently has just completed a round of it in a Connecticut facility.

"With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction," read the Jon Hamm rehab statement from his publicity team, according to TMZ. "They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward."

According to The Washington Post, he received treatment at the end of February at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Besides shooting the last "Mad Men" season, the actor also played the main antagonist of the new Netflix show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" in the past few months, as well as embarking on other projects like the Netflix miniseries "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," set to be released later this year, in which he co-stars with a lot of Hollywood's hottest actors, from Kristen Wiig to Brandon Cooper and even Chris Pine.

In any case, news of Jon Hamm's rehab comes as a shock, as the actor had never gone through anything of the kind before - he even quit smoking a few years back, and actually smokes herbal cigarettes with no nicotine nor tobacco for his role in "Mad Men."

In any case, congratulations to Jon Hamm on rehab, as it speaks of his struggle to get better and seek help.
