Though rumors regarding the Olympian's transition into being a woman have flooded the Internet since the beginning of the year, there has been no official confirmation from any of the related parties to the "Keeping with the Kardashians" dad, and now it seems that the recent Us Weekly Bruce Jenner interview wasn't true at all.
Last Wednesday, there was a new item on Us Weekly about Bruce Jenner, as the magazine had supposedly talked to his daughter, supermodel and Cara Delevingne BFF Kendall Jenner, and she'd talked about her support for her father's transition - something that apparently never happened.
According to CNN, the Us Weekly Bruce Jenner-related interview featuring the second-youngest sister of Kim Kardashian saying that she fully supported Bruce, apparently taking the quote from an interview that the reality star turned model gave at a major event last weekend: the taping of Comedy Central's roast of Justin Bieber, which happened in Los Angeles.
The first issues with the Us Weekly Bruce Jenner claims happened when Kendall herself took to Twitter to say there had been no interview at all, saying that it was illegal to quote someone who had said nothing at all, Fox News reports.
Seemingly, after the model called them out in Twitter, the publication went on to attempt to verify their Us Weekly Bruce Jenner story, contacting the person who'd interviewed Kendall to the best of their knowledge.
The interviewer, a freelance worker, had sold the story to the magazine and, upon questioning, stood by his work; however, the publication wasn't too sure on the veracity of the story and they decided to remove it and issue an apology.
"After attempting to reconfirm his account, editors of Us have concerns about the veracity of this interview and the circumstances under which it was obtained," said the website in a statement. "We would like to retract the story entirely and have removed it from our website. We sincerely apologize to Ms. Jenner and her family."
This new Us Weekly Bruce Jenner issue is only the latest news on the subject, as though nobody involved in "Keeping the Kardashians" has confirmed or denied the claims about Bruce's transition, his mother Esther Jenner spoke in a recent interview saying that her son was very brave to go through the change. He's also spoken about releasing a reality show.
