John Travolta Scientology: Did ‘Grease’ Star Take Tom Cruise On Gay Getaway 30 Years Ago?

It seems like there's some new awkward gossip about the "Saturday Night Fever" star just about every month, particularly right after the Oscars, as he appeared to become Idina Menzel and Scarlett Johansson's creepy uncle - now, tabloid columns talked about a supposed John Travolta's Scientology gay getaway with pal Tom Cruise.

Besides how controversial John Travolta's Scientology has been (as well as Tom Cruise's, who's been very outspoken on his religious views to the press), both actors have been dealing with decades-long rumors about their sexualities, as they're both said to have spent years in the closet.

Now, as has happened many times before, John Travolta's Scientology beliefs put the "Pulp Fiction" actor in the midst of controversy, as a new rumor has emerged that apparently he and fellow Scientologist Cruise were once lovers.

According to Gossip Cop, the new ridiculous John Travolta Scientology rumor is from before Cruise even joined the Church founded by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. Gossip tabloid Star says that both Oscar-nominated actors have a history together, as they supposedly once escaped into the Oregon "woods" way back in the early 80s, before Cruise became a household name.

As Jezebel reports, the John Travolta Scientology rumor says that they were both in one of the Church's schools at the time, and they escaped to the woods, in something that seems straight out of a bad porno. Supposedly, Travolta had become "obsessed" with the actor and arranged the meet, which supposedly changed the lives of both of them, though things remained a secret for decades.

However, there are more serious rumors going on about the actors' Scientology practices, as the documentary "Going Clear," which is about the controversial religion, has stated that Scientology has actually been blackmailing the actor for years to out him in case he left the religion, according to BuzzFeed.

Once again, John Travolta's Scientology affiliation becomes the subject of controversy.
